Ilan,

I doubt anyone would want to go from all grain to extracts. That really isn't the point of the book. Not everyone that starts brewing starts right with all grain. That is quite the time/money commitment for something you may not be sure that you like. That was the purpose of this book. Get in as cheap as possible, know what to expect, make some good beer, then realize you love it and want to grow your brewery!

Thanks for the comment!

Daniel, thanks for the comment.

I'm using a Canon Powershot S2 IS, its about 6 years old but gets the job done. What I don't like about it though is that batteries don't last very long in it, even if the camera just sits around.

I don't think your the odd ball out. I'm the type of person that really likes to calculate risks vs reward before jumping into something. I think everyone just has their own way and you found yours to be just getting your feet wet then figuring out other things later. That works too!

Again, thanks for the comment.

Great work on this one, lots of really helpful info here. I also like all the pictures; what camera are you using?

I must be an oddball in that I keep reading about people doing all this research before getting in to home brewing. Personally, I made some homemade hard cider in november, then asked my wife for a kit for christmas. After my first batch of wine and beer were fermenting, I spent the next few days reading a lot. I wanted to just go for it first, since I am a tactile learner.

Yea. I'm the same way!

It took me about 9 months worth of research to decide that I could brew and to get the confidence to go for it. I wish I would have just jumped into it as it is really hard to screw up and really easy to just make better and better!
